Site testing
Before launch you only know the site works from your own network. Whether it opens abroad, and how fast, has to be measured from there.
Do not buy residential for this
Residential IPs cost more because of identity, and testing your own site needs no disguise. What you need is a stable regional exit with predictable bandwidth, which is exactly what datacenter proxies do — an order of magnitude cheaper.
What to measure
Break availability into measurable parts so a failure points at a layer.
- DNS resolution time: does each region resolve to a nearby node
- TLS handshake: is the certificate chain verifiable locally
- Time to first byte: is the CDN actually hitting in-region
- Redirect chain: does regional routing send users to the wrong version
