Counterfeit sites are often shown only to particular regions. Not seeing one from home does not mean it is not there.
Sweep by region, not by domain
Counterfeit and grey-market campaigns target regions: the fake page is shown to residential IPs in the target market, while datacenter IPs get a normal page or a blank. Scanning from one location produces a comfortably wrong report.
Evidence that holds up
Once you find something, the completeness of your evidence decides how fast it is handled.
- Save the screenshot, the full HTML and the response headers together
- Record access time, exit country and city, and the exit IP
- Keep every hop of the redirect chain — fakes often hide behind legitimate domains
- Capture the same target from several regions to prove the targeting exists
